Passion or Paper
Picture this; dinner is just over, you're seated at the dining table with your Mom, the discussion somehow moves to young people and career choices, the topic of a young lad who's "doing well" comes up and she goes; "job satisfaction was back in those days oh, now nobody looks for job satisfaction anymore, everyone wants money, job satisfaction and passion are just myths and shouldn't be considered."
This is not the first time I have heard her and so many others say things like this but it got me thinking, are passion and paper (money/ wealth) really mutually exclusive? Do I have to give up that little fire (pun intended 😏) of excitement I get while pursuing my passion for a "soft landing" as a really close friend once described the art of having enough money. Would I be subjected to a life eluded by this so called "soft landing" if I stubbornly stay the path of passion? These are the issues bothering me at this point and I do not have any answers for them, if you do have answers or know the way forward please leave a comment or two down below.
It would surprise you how fast that little fire can turn into a much bigger flame that serves both you and others.
ReplyDeleteYou're on the right path if you wake up every morning knowing you are fulfilled and living your dreams.
The thing about chasing the paper is that soon, you won't have enough paper to make up for all the regrets.
Besides, I know wealthy and accomplished celebrity chefs and if I met you for the first time, I'd think you're one. You are but you know what I mean...it takes time, patience and contentment.
You're doing great, and inspiring some of us.
Thank you for your kind words.
DeleteAny time. I'm happy we talked.
